We
reached Delhi Airport at 10:00 a.m. and had our flight at 11:25a.m. This was
the first
flight experience for some of us. So, we all were very excited. The
flight took nearly two and a half hours and we reached Bagdogra at about 2 p.m.
After taking lunch at Bagdogra we headed towards Kalimpong. We reached GFF
office at 5:30 p.m. Mr. Saom Namchu, the Project Director of GFF along with the
other GFF members extended a very warm welcome and served us excellent
Darjeeling tea. He gave us a small presentation about the foundation and
development of GFF and the various social works it does. It was really
heartening to know that GFF is working so hard for the uplift of the various
sections of society. They honoured all of us with beautiful traditional scarves
called “Khada” in the local language. We then headed for Hotel Komfort Inn
where we had to stay. Our rooms were very comfortable and cozy. The dinner was
also very hot and delicious. After having dinner, we all went for a short walk
in the neighbourhood to enjoy the serene environment. After coming back to
Hotel we all sat in a common room and discussed about the day’s experience and
had a wonderful time chatting, dancing and singing together.
